Leading Music and Learning English

This past week with the Martinez Family we decided to teach them how to direct the hymns. Wow, what an interesting/amusing time that was. Let’s just say that after a while Edith and Raul can now direct hymns in 2/4, ¾, and 4/4 time. I have a video of Raul practicing and it’s pretty good. He told us “its not as easy as it looks is it”.

There’s a member here who is lending me a hand with my English and helping me to practice and remember some things that I have forgotten. His name is Carlos Delgado and when he was a little kid his family was the Pensionista for the missionaries who were North Americans and they were always talking in English. Little by little he learned English and now works as a translator for the owners of KFC and Pizza Hut. Lets just say that he makes a good little salary but its fun talking with him because he knows even the accents from down south to the Australian accent. I hope his efforts pay off but I think I end up praying for the gift of tongues when I get home.
