The Miracle of Meeting Zino

Working in our little Trapiche Branch is really great because there hasn´t been missionaries there in quite some time and so we are constantly trying to find new investigators. Last Wednesday night, before returning home, we decided to know five more doors. We decided to know a row of doors to see if we could enter one more house before calling it a day. One by one the rejection excuses were thrown at us until we knocked the last door. Zino Salas opened up and to our surprise told us “I´ve been waiting for you, come on in”. First off, strangers inviting you into their houses is something that just doesn’t happen very oftern here in Lima. Elder Cruz and I just looked at each other with very surprised looks on our faces. Come to find out, Zino has a daughter who is a member of the church but hasn´t attended in quite some time. Just this last week she had begun talking to her dad, Zino, about the church but she didn´t know how to get ahold us the Elders to come to here house to teach her dad. That night, we were fortunate enough to know his door, and right off Zino recognized who we were. Zino is set to be baptized the twenty-second of August and will be the first baptism in the newly organized Trapiche Branch.
