The Spirit of Conference

The spirit from conference was felt very strongly even clear down here in PERU. I found myself clinging onto every message and every bit of council that our leaders shared with us. Oh how lucky we are to be blessed with the divine guidance of Prophets and Apostles even today. Even though the world may seem a little crazy today, I was able to find a lot of peace and comfort by listening to conference this past weekend.

I was especially touched by Elder Holland’s talk about The Book of Mormon. What a powerful and true testimony of the divinity and blessing of The Book of Mormon. When he explained how The Book of Mormon has been attacked and beaten for so long it made me stop and think of the many experiences when people have tried to discredit its truthfulness or divine orgin. I pray that I have been a true “Defender of the Truth” and was able to help people truly come to realize the grand miracle of having The Book of Mormon even today.

During the Priesthood session of Conference, I really enjoyed the message given by Elder Yoon Hwan Choi. His experience of seeing a Change of Heart in that group of young boys was really something special. It’s another testimony of the power of the Gospel to help those who have strayed, to find their way back. During his talk it brought back so many life-long memories of the special people that I have been able to meet and have been able to see them embrace the Gospel and also experience a Change of Heart. We can’t look at others for who they are but rather for who they can become.
