Are There Pioneers Like That Today?

Yesterday we attended the fast and testimony meeting in our new little Trapiche Branch. The members might be few in number but they have very strong testimonies. Yesterday towards the end of the meeting I felt the need to get up and share my testimony with them. I bore testimony of modern day pioneers and how even though today we aren’t asked to leave our homes and cross the plains we are required to make other types of sacrifices. The members in that little Branch are modern day pioneers; they are making sacrifices in other ways so that the church can grow. I shared with them a little experience of when you use to tell me stories of our family who were also pioneers and how I use to ask myself, Are they pioneers like that today? Looking out over that little group of saints my question was answered. Throughout my time here in Peru I am so fortunate to meet modern day pioneers every day.
