Elder Quiroga and I got served something very special to eat. One of the members was given a very large river turtle from one of the native villages along the Amazon River when she went and visited them. I guess the offering of a turtle is one of the highest signs of respect, second to the offering of a daughter to marry, LOL. But anyway she invited us over to eat it with her family. It was really something different. I can’t really explain what it was like because it wasn’t anything like chicken but it was really good. Hmmmm, so if you get the chance to eat some turtle, do it and tell me what it was like.
