This is truly the work of the Lord

We are currently teaching two eighteen year old boys who are really excited about the gospel and the whole idea of missionary work. They are Orlando and Luis Alberto. The two of them came to church yesterday and when they both found out they were both investigating the church they instantly became friends. They both had a really neat experience in during fast and testimony meeting and are excited to come again and to continue the lessons. We have still been working hard with Luz and her two kids (Willie and Leticia). All three of them came to sacrament meeting yesterday and we visited last night to find out how it went and to visit for a bit. Leticia and Willie both asked us when they could get baptized. We began to teach them the doctrine of baptism as well as the restoration of the Gospel. We began to bear testimony that the Priesthood was taken from the earth but was restored through Joseph Smith and that the power to baptize was on the earth again when something special happened. All three of them tuned in and Elder Quiroga began to challenge them one by one to be baptized. When he challenged Luz to be baptized she slowly nodded her head and quietly said YES!!! The entire family accepted a baptismal date for the 16 of August. If everything goes to plan we will have at least one baptism every week for the entire month and a total of eight baptisms in all. I still remember when we entered this area and it was dead, the members weren’t excited about the work, and the days went by kind of slowly. It has completely turned around here in Mi Peru and Versalles. Everyday I receive a confirmation that this truly is the work of the Lord.
