Thursday afternoon our district leader wanted to do a work exchange with Elder Quiroga so I went to another area with Elder Apaza. (He is from my CCM group as well). We had a pretty tough day, as all of our appointments fell through and we were both pretty discouraged. After dinner we were walking back to our room and when we came to this intersection we both looked at each other and said “we need to go down this street”. Really it didn’t make any sense we were already late and we had decided to take a longer route. But we began walking down the street and we say a lady with a shovel and she was attempting to conquer a huge pile of dirt. It was dark and she looked exhausted. I threw my bag down, asked if we could help, took off my tie and name tag and got to work. Elder Apaza ran the wheelbarrow while I shoveled dirt. We moved that entire pile of dirt in about 45 minutes and I pretty much thrashed a pair of pants and a white shirt. We were both filthy dirty but so happy. We chatted with the lady (ANNA) for a couple of minutes and set of an appointment to visit her again. Saturday we went and visited her and she shared with us that Thursday morning the police had told her that she had to move the pile of dirt in front of her house or she would be fined. She prayed and prayed to find a way to move the dirt because she didn’t have the money to pay the fine. She told us that we were the answer to her prayers. She called us angels and just couldn’t stop thanking us. It was incredible, the spirit definitely knows who needs a little helping hand and I am so thankful we were able to hear and heed its promptings.
